One week to go!
Dear Hackers,
QUEEN CITY <hack> kicks off in one week! We hope you’re getting excited to hack out solutions for problems put forth by our community partners: United Way Regina, Food Bank Regina, and Special Olympics Saskatchewan!
We are extremely glad that you have registered online and wanted to share some day-of details with you. Read on:
Judges
We’re excited to announce our three judges, who will be judging your projects based on their technical achievement, community impact, and innovation. Full judging criteria will be announced at the event, and will be made available on queencityhack.devpost.com for your reference during the hacking.

- Dustin Coupal, ophthalmologist and co-founder of GasBuddy
- Paul Burch, President of SaskInteractive and Partner and Business Development Manager, OmniOnline Inc.
Prizes
We’re also thrilled to announce our prizes, made possible by our awesome sponsors -- SaskInteractive, Visionpool, Rebellion Brewing Co., FastPrint, Tall Grass Apparel, and Compugen!
- First Place: $100 Amazon gift cards for each team member, 32 oz. Rebellion growlers for each team member, and a special surprise

Before the Event
We’ll be providing you with power, Wi-Fi, food and drink, but you will need to bring a few things:
- Your laptop
- Mobile device, if creating a mobile app
- Cables, chargers and connectors for any of the above
- Data sticks are not necessary but could be handy, in case of any Wi-Fi troubles
- Bring a sleeping bag and pillow in case you want to catch some shut-eye during the event, there will be a few rooms available for some quiet time. Though, if you really want to, you can certainly leave the building and come back in the morning.
During the Event
We’ll be serving meals throughout the event. If you have a food restriction or allergy, please contact klawson@gasbuddy.com.
After the Event
During the judges’ deliberation period, we’ll be serving pizza and beer (to of-age participants) to celebrate a job well done. Afterwards, we’ll be heading to the Owl for a drink or two and everyone is encouraged to join!
